A Legacy of Compassion Continues Through Gift to The Lighthouse

I was honoured to recently receive a generous legacy gift on behalf of The Salvation Army in Salmon Arm from the Estate of Victoria MacQuarrie, a contribution that will help support vulnerable individuals and families in our community.
I had the privilege of welcoming Victoria’s granddaughters, Linda Walter and Barb Davey, along with their husbands, Wes and Paul, to The Lighthouse. Their visit provided an opportunity to share how Victoria’s gift will help strengthen programs and services that offer hope, support, and practical assistance to those facing difficult circumstances.
It was also a chance to learn a little more about Victoria and the values that shaped her life. Legacy gifts are especially meaningful because they represent a person’s desire to continue making a difference long after they are gone. Through her generosity, Victoria’s compassion will continue to be felt in our community for years to come.
I am deeply grateful to Victoria’s family for faithfully carrying out her wishes and for taking the time to visit The Lighthouse. It was an honour to meet them and to share how Victoria’s legacy will help bring hope and practical support to those who need it most.
