The Christmas Food Market

A Fresh Take on Christmas Giving 🎄

This Christmas, we’re embracing a new approach—one we hope brings even more joy and meaning to you and your family.

Rather than distributing gift cards, we’re adding extra points to your Market account throughout December. This change gives you the freedom to choose the items that best suit your needs, making the season more personal, flexible, and empowering.

Holiday Blessings Await in the Market!

Step into a season of joy and wonder! We’re excited to share heartfelt surprises and meaningful goodies that will uplift your spirit and make this holiday truly special.

What You’ll Receive

If you’re already registered with us, you’ll receive 50% more points than usual for December:

  • Single person: 300 points
  • Family of 2: 375 points
  • Family of 3: 450 points
  • Family of 4: 525 points
  • Family of 5: 600 points
  • Family of 6–8: up to 675 points

Making the Season Brighter for Everyone

If you’re unhoused or have limited access to food storage, you’ll receive an extra 50 points to help you pick up a few special items that suit your needs. And throughout the month of December, we’ll be adding thoughtful touches to the Cafe to ensure you feel welcomed, supported and included.

How to Register

To receive your Christmas Bonus, you’ll need to register in person at The Lighthouse during November. If you’re new to us, don’t worry—just come in and we’ll walk you through the intake process.

When you register, you’ll get a special holiday points card that shows your bonus points and helps track your spending. It will also include a checkbox for your ham pickup (limited to one per family). Please keep this card safe—it will not be replaced if lost.

Looking Ahead

We know that the months after Christmas can be challenging.  That’s why we are stocking extra food, household items, and toiletries in the Market early in the new year. While point allocations will remain the same, you’ll find a broader selection of items to help support your household needs.

We’re honored to walk alongside you this season—offering care, dignity, and a sense of community. If you have any questions or need support, please reach out. We’re grateful to share this season with you.

Christmas Toy Shop:

Salmon Arm Ministries has a Christmas Toy Shop available. Christmas is a special time of year for so many families, but we also know the financial difficulties that are created for many households. Parents and caregivers can come to our toy shop and pick out just the right things for the children in their lives free of charge.

Come down to The Lighthouse (441 3 ST SW) to register for the Toy Shop.

To register you must be the legal guardian of a child age 16 or under. To pick up toys we are required to verify ID for each child being shopped for.
